The core functions of the Infant/ Toddler ECE are caring for and meeting the needs of children ages 10 months to 3 years old and providing engaging and age-appropriate activities to stimulate healthy development in social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language growth and potential.
The core functions of the Early Childhood Educator are caring for and meeting the needs of children age 10 months to 5 years old, planning a curriculum based on social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development, and providing engaging activities for children to
explore, create, discover and learn based on their interest and curiosity.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead creative, age-appropriate learning activities.
- Observe, document, and support each child’s development.
- Build positive, ongoing relationships with families.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Maintain health and safety standards inside and outside of the classroom
- Work closely with fellow educators and Supported Child Development professionals
Qualifications
- BC Registered certification as ECE, ECE with Infant Toddler or ECEA.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- First Aid with Childcare CPR (training provided if not yet certified).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- 2 years or more of previous childcare or early-learning experience is an asset.
