Community Campus Children’s Centre is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Education (ECE) Manager to lead Kids on Campus Children’s Centre. The ECE Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the centre, supporting educators, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, and creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

This is an active role that requires full presence with children.

• Educators are on the floor and engaged throughout the day
• Phones are not used during care time (except for program communication)
• Strong attention, awareness, and responsiveness are expected

This is not a passive supervision role. It is meaningful, relational work.

A grounded leadership role supporting a calm, relational early childhood program

We are looking for someone who can hold the day-to-day operations and administrative flow of our program with steadiness, clarity, and care.

This role allows the Director to step out of daily management while you help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

The ECE supports infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months, including those with diverse needs, fostering their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. With an understanding that development in the early years is dynamic and ever-changing, the ECE maintains a balance of consistency and flexibility—adapting to each child’s evolving needs while
providing the stability and routine that helps children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.

The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for the implementation of Kootenai Community Centre Society’s approved learning framework. They work with children from the age of 30 months until they begin formal schooling. They address both the individual and group cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of children.

This position requires preparing materials for the classroom, organizing activities, enforcing safety policies, addressing special needs or cultural differences, checking social and emotional development, and disciplining students.

The ideal Early Childhood Educator demonstrates patience and uses innovative methods of interacting and engaging with children.

The Early Childhood Educator collaborates closely with all other members of the program team to provide nurturing care and education to young children in a group setting, under the supervision of the principal in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the centre and the philosophy and policies of the agency and in compliance with licensing regulations.

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides support and direct care to children under six, including special needs children. The ECE also provides early learning experiences that will stimulate and develop the children’s intellectual, physical and emotional growth. This will be done in accordance with KIS philosophy.
