Job Description: We are seeking a motivated, well-trained and experienced candidate to work at our thriving licensed Children's Centre. We are looking for a dynamic and creative educator for our infant and toddler program.
The position would require someone who is alert, joyful and physically fit, to work in a busy and dynamic environment. A creative team player, whose responsibility and conscientiousness would contribute to our caring environment.
• We can assist with transferring a license from another Canadian Province.
• We prioritize a lower than average child to adult ratio in all our programs with one extra teacher hired full time for each Group.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week)

Compensation: CA$28.00 to CA$33.00 per hour. The indicated wage includes wage enhancements. Group Health Benefits package (after probationary period)
Location: We are located at 818 12th street, in the small mountain community of Invermere within walking distance to Lake Windermere and the Columbia River, in beautiful British Columbia. The area offers an abundance of outdoor activities including alpine and water sports.
Our Facility: The facility is a renovated heritage building on two large lots in downtown Invermere. The rooms have a variety of toys, sensory and learning activities, including open ended crafting supplies for the children to choose from. We have a very large yard for each group, walking distance from the beach and playgrounds. Our character building has a gym, huge yards, pump track for run bikes, old growth trees, nice grass, sandboxes, fun playground equipment, summer outdoor water play, a bunny, small sledding hill, fish and gardens along with a variety of loose parts for creative play.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Guide children in all domains of learning, including physical, cognitive, creative, emotional, and social development.
• Enhance children’s play and learning experience in a fun, nurturing way.
• Ensure program planning contributes to emerging, nature based curriculum based on children’s needs and interests.
• Follow Dragonfly Policies and Procedures along with BC Childcare Licensing regulations.
• Implement health, safety & nutrition best practices.
• Contribute to care of the facility and its equipment and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Able to take initiative on completing priority tasks as they present themselves.
• Communicate with parents about each child’s development, milestones, progress, and challenges.
• Ability to anticipate presenting needs and resolutions to potential challenges.
• Work cooperatively within a team of other teachers.
• Provide positive guidance strategies as outlined in the Guiding Children’s Behaviour Handbook.
Qualifications
• Experience working with children 5 years old and younger
• Early Childhood Education Certificate
• IT Specialization or capacity to acquire in a reasonable amount of time.
• Character traits of a caring, patient, creative and alert person with the ability to take initiative.
• Effective teaching skills and strategies tailored to engage young learners.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children.
• Candidate will require a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
• Child First Aid and CPR Certificate or ability to take this one day course.
