The Role
This is a hands-on, relational role working closely with a small group,8, of infants and toddlers in a home environment.
You will:
- Provide primary care for children ages 0–3
- Support daily rhythms including feeding, diapering, rest, and transitions
- Hold a calm, regulated presence in the classroom
- Help create a predictable, nurturing environment
- Spend time outdoors daily in all weather
- Work collaboratively with a small team
- Communicate with families through Brightwheel
Who You Are
We are looking for someone who is:
- IT or ECCE Certified (required)
- Warm, grounded, and emotionally attuned
- Able to hold clear boundaries with care and respect
- Observant and not overly directive with children
- Reliable and team-oriented
- Open to feedback and ongoing growth
- Drawn to a slower, more intentional approach to early childhood
Experience with Waldorf, Pikler, or attachment-based care is an asset, but not required.
Position Details
- Start Date: May 1, 2026
- Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8-4)
- Wage: $31/hour (inclusive of BC ECE Wage Enhancement for IT Certified educators) $29/hour for ECCE
Additional details:
- Paid lunch break (on-site, on-call)
- Vacation pay (5%) paid out on each pay period
- 5 paid sick days per year
- 6 professional development days annually
- Two weeks off at Christmas
Work Environment
This is an active role that requires full presence with children.
- Educators are on the floor and engaged throughout the day
- Phones are not used during care time (except for program communication)
- Strong attention, awareness, and responsiveness are expected
